| News - „BULGARIAN RED CRESCENT” CASE HAS BEEN CLOSED |
At its meeting on case No 197/2009 the Regional Court of Targovishte has ruled the closure of the non-profit association „Bulgarian Red Crescent” (with a head office in the village of Slavyanovo, Popovo municipality), which was registered last year in Targovishte by a decision of the same court.
The association has been sentenced to pay to the claimant (the Bulgarian Red Cross) all court expenses as well as the state fee for the case.
The court ruled that a period will be set for the liquidation of the association and a liquidator will be appointed. The ruling is appealable to the higher body in two-week period.
The association was registered in 2009 before elections in a gross violation of the Bulgarian and international legislation. The Bulgarian Red Cross was supported by the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Public Prosecution Office, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent and the International Committee of the Red Cross. |
